Family portraits don’t have to be stiff, stressful, or overly posed. We’re ditching the “everyone say cheese” energy and trading it in for laughs, connection, and images that feel like you. Sand in your toes, grass underfoot, wind in your hair... we’ll go with the flow and make magic in the chaos.
Not just the smiling-at-the-camera shot (though we’ll get that, too), but the real stuff - The snuggles. The side-eyes. The “hold my hand” moments you don’t realize you’ll miss until they’re gone.
Your family is beautifully, wonderfully unique—and these portraits should reflect that. No fake smiles required. Just show up, be yourselves, and I’ll take care of the rest.
What to Expect:
When to book: Anytime! Golden hour is our best friend... think sunrise or sunset for that soft, glowy light.
Where we shoot: Your favorite park, the beach, a nature trail, or somewhere that just feels right for your crew. I’ll help you choose the perfect spot.
What to wear: Neutrals, layers, and textures photograph beautifully. Don’t stress, I’ll send a style guide and help you coordinate without being too matchy-matchy like it’s 1998.
How it works: We’ll play, wander, laugh, and chase the light. I’ll guide you through natural prompts and moments so nothing feels forced.

1. Discovery Call
We hop on a quick call so I can hear your big ideas - or your “I’m overwhelmed, just tell me what to do” moments. We'll talk about what products you're interested in and how we can best capture this season of life.
2. Book Your Session
Once you’ve chosen a package and reserved your session, we’ll plan out all the details... what to wear, how to prep, and everything you’ll need to feel confident and ready!
3. Photoshoot Day!
When it’s time to photograph, you can truly relax. My sessions are baby-led, toddler-proof, and designed to be calm and flexible. I’ll handle the pacing, posing, and flow so you can soak in the moment, even if someone skips their nap.
4. Image Reveal
Within a few days, you’ll receive a proofing gallery to select your favorite portraits. Once your selections are finalized, your fully edited gallery will be delivered to your inbox in 1–2 weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
I like to start my sessions about an hour before sunset, and some locations during the morning work well too (if there's enough shade). I recommend sunrise sessions for Washington DC locations! My family sessions usually last around 30 minutes to an hour. I have many locations in mind based on where your family lives and how far you're willing to travel. Before your session, I pick out parts of the location that would be best for photos based on the time of day. You're welcome to choose from those spots, but if you have a place in mind (maybe it's special to your family or you just love how it looks), I'd love to know! I enjoy exploring new places and experiencing new things as well.
When is the best time for portraits?
Absolutely! Pets are family too, and including them in your session can add warmth, personality, and a little extra joy. Just make sure they’re comfortable and that any location rules allow for their presence. Please let me know in advance.
Can pets be included?
Whether you want to buy new clothes or use outfits you already love, it's a great place to start. You can start by choosing one item first, and then add colors and textures that complement it. Also consider the colors in your home (where you may hang up your family prints from your session at) or perhaps your favorite color(s) and then go from there.
Make sure everyone is comfortable during the session. If you have young children, remember that we’ll be moving around, so dress yourself and your kids in clothes that allow for movement and aren’t itchy, too loose, or too tight. If you plan to wear heels during any part of your family session, please remember to bring a pair of sneakers or slip-ons to wear at other times during the session. If possible, please have your kids wear matching socks and avoid worn-out shoes.
Don't forget to consider the weather. Make sure you’re prepared with cute coats/ cardigans if it’s rainy or cold!
What should we wear?
The turnaround time for receiving your images can vary depending on editing process. Typically, it takes 2 weeks or less to receive your online gallery that will be sent to your email.
